This general manual provides important safety informati-on relating to the installation, maintenance and handling of bifacial double glass solar modules (BiKu and BiHiKu series). Professional installer must read these guidelines carefully and strictly follow these instructions.
Modules should be safely fixed to bear all expected loads, including wind and snow loads. After the installation of double glass modules, a 30 mm deflection for framed module is allowed. For framed modules, a minimum clearance of 6.5 mm (0.25 in) between modules is required to allow thermal expan-sion of the frames and modules.
Canadian Solar Inc. bifacial double glass solar modules (BiKu and BiHiKu) have been qualified for Application Class A (equivalent to Safety Class II requirements). Mo-dules rated under this class should be used in systems operating at voltage above 50V or power above 240W, where general contact access is anticipated.
If the disconnects and over current protective devices (OCPD) cannot be opened or the inverter cannot be po-wered down, cover the fronts and backs of modules in the PV array with an opaque material to stop the producti-on of electricity when installing or working on a module or wiring. Do not install modules in strong wind.
